The Cable Girls
The Cable Girls are three knitting-obsessed ladies from Cheltenham, in the Cotswolds region of
England. They run one-day knitting seminars in Cheltenham and the surrounding area, focussed on
learning and improving knitting skills for experienced knitters. They also run learn to knit courses,
which are aimed at beginners and anyone who wants to pick their needles back up after a break.
The Cable Girls have found knitting to be a therapeutic, rewarding hobby for many years, and a very
social one too! Their mission is to share this passion with others. Research shows that knitting not
only keeps the brain active and enhances manual dexterity, but can assist in the treatment of mental
illness, such as depression. No longer is knitting viewed as something Granny did, it is a way for the
younger generations to get creative and produce unique gifts for family and friends, as well as their
